Since, in 1231, Montfort was not but Earl of Leicester, had no henchmen and little or no cash (and was most likely in debt to the Jews himself, having belatedly obtained the loan from Cousin Ranulf), it is vitally unlikely that he achieved this expulsion solely together with his personal powers.
